And now we come
to the most prestigious award of all – The Pam Gea Memorial Trophy for the
player of the season. Named for the skink star player Pam Gea of Cambrian
Explosion who was cruelly taken from us too soon by a darn punk! Will we ever
see her like again…we miss you Pam!
Anyway…it’s the award
that every player aspires to at the start of the season and that most can
only dream of from their hospital beds. It takes a combination of grit,
determination and luck to get to the top this pile. Threatening the MVP panel
with eternal damnation also helps.
The award for
Season III goes to The Matterkhorne of KhorneHub! His season was a combination
of high drama and low farce where he seemed intent on injuring whoever crossed
his path…including himself. Despite spending a fair share of the games face
down in the dirt he still managed to clock up five casualties and six MVP
performances out of seven! Given his love of double coconuts we can only assume
the rest of the KhorneHub team were too busy laughing at his antics to care
about their own performances. Congratulations to the big, red wall on a job
well done…now back to the Warp with ya!
Coming in a
fairly distant second was Zippy of Roland’s Runners. With six touchdowns and
two MVPs they ended the regular season with 28 star player points. Hot on their
heels was Hedwig of Orcwarts Express. An all-round performance of six
touchdowns, two completions and one MVP award saw them garner 25 points and
take home the bronze.
